How to get pregnant is probably one of the most common questions for those trying to conceive. Most people who ask this question are trying to figure out what do they need to do to increase their chances of getting pregnant quickly – what is the best way to get pregnant?

The simple answer is to have sex just prior to your ovulation. Ovulation is the term used for the releasing of the egg by one of the ovaries. The egg is only available for fertilization for a 12 to 24 hour period. Ideally, the sperm will be waiting for the egg.

Ovulation normally occurs sometime between 11 to 19 days for women who have regular 28 to 30 day cycles. The actual date of ovulation may vary cycle to cycle, but is should fall with the 11 to 19 day window of your cycle. This is commonly referred to as your fertility window.

The simplest way to get pregnant is to identify the first day of your period and then count out 10 days. Starting with day 10, have sex every other day during your fertility window. There is no need to have sex every day, because sperm may live inside of you for 2 to 3 and up to even 5 days. This is absolutely the best way to get pregnant.

Couple commonly report that their busy schedules do not allow them have sex as frequently as they would like. For these couples, it may be important to track ovulation so that sex may be timed accordingly.

Ovulation may be tracked using ovulation tests, ovulations monitors, ovulation detectors, and other ovulation tracking devices such as the OV Watch. The important is to track your ovulation for 3 to 6 months and make sure that you are ovulating on a consistent schedule. If you are, then you may forgo monitoring your ovulation and focus on just using the calendar.

If your ovulation fluctuates from cycle to cycle, then it may prove beneficial to continue monitoring your ovulation so that you can increase your chances of having sex at the right time to maximize your chances of getting pregnant.
